Postmark Deadline: April 30, 2003 Glimmerglass Opera announces its first Compose a Fanfare competition, open to composers who are American citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. The winning fanfare will be performed prior to each of Glimmerglass Opera's forty-three performances during its 2003 Festival Season, and the composer of the winning fanfare will receive a prize of $500. Announcement of the winning composer will be included in the 2003 Festival Season program book. The fanfare should not exceed 20 seconds in duration and should be scored for 2 tpt and 2 tbn.
